Thoughts

So many memories of fun times and adventures with Chris, Marie and family, and our wider friendship group in Suffolk. Following your move to Melksham we continued to have gatherings. A larger than life character, Chris brought humour and fun to any occasion! An image that won’t leave us is meeting up at the beach. It was cold, wet and windy when we arrived and Chris was standing outside a shop with a bucket on his head, eating an icecream! There have been many get togethers over the years including parties, your fabulous wedding in France, and holidays. Fond memories of times with Chris that will last for ever. Chris had his own inimitable style. Warm and generous, Chris always greeted us with a big hug. He faced adversity with strength and determination. Rest peacefully dear friend. You will be greatly missed.

I first met Chris almost 40 years ago, he was one of many refrig industry "friends" - beside the work there were lots of golf, lots of humour, lots of drinks. Our paths crossed regularly during the 90's and 00's - less so in recent years which is a shame. So sad to hear the news of his passing, but lovely to see the pictures from recent times, fond family memories that I'm sure Marie and the wider group of family and friends will cherish and draw comfort from. Unfortunately I cannot make the funeral today, but will join remotely. R.I.P. Chris - huge character and one of the good guys. x

Very sad to hear the news, I worked with Chris for a while, we had a few laughs, especially remember the late nights at the IoR in Glasgow. Huge respect for the adoption of 3 young children at a late stage of life with Marie. RIP Chris.
